November 8, 2013
This is a very significant day for me personally, as this marks one year since my open heart surgery. Memories of that day have deeply seeded their roots within my spiritual being and I continue to thank the Lord for sparing me for yet another season. I have supplicated with Father on so many occasions with regard to my feelings of gratitude and I know that He loves me,  just as he does all of His children. I will forever be grateful for His healing power and for His unconditional love. He lives, as does His literal son, even Jesus Christ. It is through the power of the Atonement that we will live and dwell in the presence of the Father and his only begotten son. I will ever be grateful for my dear, eternal companion and for my loving daughter for the healing balm of Gilead that they rendered upon my recovery. The Lord literally took my heart and sealed it and I shall remember always the feelings of life giving breath that He so freely gave to me.
Nauvoo has a special component that makes it possible for the gospel to be heard and shared with those so desperately in need of the Savior's redeeming love. The downtrodden and the lowly in heart can be lifted up and feel of the peace of the Savior's offerings. Our investigators with which we are currently sharing the gospel are beginning to feel of the redemptive love of the Savior. We have focused on teaching them, as individuals, and not simply teaching lessons. There are so many that need the Savior's love in their lives. The key is the atonement, which is central to all that we share within the doctrines of Christ. Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the end, are the guiding principles of love and peace. It is so wonderful to witness and feel the change come over each of them as they come closer to the Savior. The Lord is wonderful and kind and has He indeed changes lives forever.
How are we doing on finding someone for the missionaries to teach? I know that Bishop Romero has invited a young man and that he is being taught in the Bishop's home. Hopefully, you have made a family commitment to invite someone into your home by Christmas time and feel of the spirit as you observe them being taught. There is no other spiritual feeling quite like the spirit of conversion. It is real, it is wonderful and it will bring joy to you and your family!! Be Finders, Fellowshippers and a Testifiers.(FFT's) and the Lord will bless you. More importantly, He will bless the lives of your friends and neighbors.
Stand Strong and Be Bold!!
Warmly,
Elder and Sister Warner
