November 25, 2013

Thanksgiving is upon us and Nauvoo is beautiful. We had snow last week and a dusting of white powder fell yesterday. It is really cold, 3 degrees the other night and it now barely reaches freezing during the day. I am still uncertain as to how those Saints of the 1840's were able to work, play and travel in this type of weather. I freely admit that I could not have been a very successful pioneer. I am already complaining about the weather and the real cold stuff doesn't come until after the first of the year. During the cold winter months, temperatures are often below zero (that's just crazy).

Although it was a very short trip, it was wonderful to be able to travel home to witness Joey's (our grandson) baptism. He is such a sweet spirit and the Lord loves him so much. He is very close to the spirit and he does his very best to be like Jesus. It was also wonderful to see the saints of Ramona once again.

We currently have four investigators that are progressing, each at their own given pace. We have set a date with our newest investigator, Mattie Adams. She will be baptised on December 14. The other three have committed to be baptised, but we have yet to set dates. We feel that one will be baptised on December 21st, with the other two entering the waters of baptism in January. The Lord has been very kind and generous and our hearts are full of gratitude. For the past few Monday's, we have had two less active members visit us every Monday in the Family Search Center. They have been able to find many of their kindred dead and we are pointing them towards the Temple so that they can do the work themselves. They have both attended church the last 4 weeks and they are once again experiencing the Holy Spirit in their lives. Our goal is to help them return to the Temple as soon as they and Bishop Cluff feel they are ready. It has been so exciting to watch and feel the spirit capture their hearts once again.

We pray that each of you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving and that you will love and cherish one another. Be thankful for the small things in life and have hope and faith that there are better days ahead. Remember to love your neighbor and to serve your fellow man, for that is what the Savior would have us do. Father in Heaven loves us and He desires for us to find that happiness that we all so desperately seek. We pray that you will each experience the love and peace of the gospel and that you might share your spiritual feelings with your friends and neighbors. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Stand Strong and Be Bold!!

Love,
Elder and Sister Warner
