The spiritual light of the City of Joseph continues to glisten off the Mississippi River as it rolls lazily along. There is just no room to move about this town! The pageant continues to be a spiritual feast and is full to capacity each night. There is no room at the Inn and the Temple is operating at full capacity, as well. The Wards are overflowing each Sunday. Our Ward had 800 members on Sunday and the Nauvoo 3rd Ward had 1100. Three tables are used to pass the Sacrament and 16-20 priesthood holders administer the sacred emblems. In terms of attendance, it is almost like a Poway Stake Conference each weekend. The weather has been beautiful, especially for this time of the year. It has been in the low 80's each day, with lows in the 50-60's each night. The pageant cast is especially grateful for the cool weather.

We are extremely busy teaching investigators, less-active members and part member families. We have two baptisms on August 10Th and the Wilson family is very excited. Bro Wilson will baptize his wife and son and they are already talking about going to the Temple next year. He has not been active in the church for 10-12 years, but has returned with full intent and is already working hard towards receiving the Melchizedek Priesthood. His wife, who was a pretty solid Lutheran continues to progress and learn. The Lutheran's in Nauvoo are wonderful people and live their religion. His son loves the youth program, especially scouts. He has a wonderful relationship with the Bishop and he loves and respects Bishop Cluff. It was wonderful to watch that relationship develop and come to fruition. We continue to teach our 10 year old Kathy Kennedy and anticipate a September baptism. We picked up two solid investigators from the pageant! We are attending pageant with them, one on Wednesday, the other on Thursday and then we will begin sharing the gospel with them. The Nauvoo Pageant is POWERFUL!! Some of you might remember Janine Green who used to be in the old Ramona First Ward. We were blessed to have her and her youngest daughter, Jess with us for 5 days this week. We had so much fun together. They are wonderful saints!

It is an honor and a privilege to serve here and we have been blessed by a loving Father in Heaven. There is still much to do in Nauvoo, but we are confident that the Lord will be near to direct our efforts. Sister Warner is a marvelous missionary and those that we teach love and respect her. She is very close to the spirit and I have learned to listen and have even developed a little P word. She's the best!!

I hope all is well...We love and miss our friends and send our fondest greetings. Oh, Sister King while in the Family Search Center Monday morning, I tapped into a family in my Mom's line that needs the work done for the mom and dad and 10 kids, plus the kids spouses, children, perhaps 50 names. Isn't the Lord wonderful!! I hope you've given Zack a hug from us! We also hope that the Tarver's have given Max a big squeeze for us too.

Read the Book of Mormon. You will become closer to Christ in all ways and your families will feel of that same closeness. The truth contained therein will bless your entire life and the lives of those around you.

Congratulations on your missionary work!! The Ramona Oaks Ward  has done a wonderful job "finding!" That's what it's all about! Keep it up!!

Stand Strong and Be Bold!
We love you,
Elder and Sister Warner

  1. Hi Elder and Sister Warner! Love your blog. Makes me feel like I should try a little harder.
We are loving our mission here in Montana, even though it sounds like things are a little slower here (to say the least!). Keep the pictures coming. I love to see these historical places. Someday we will go there.
