Nauvoo continues to shine in God's glory! This beautiful city is bidding all to "come" and feel of the presence of Joseph and the saints. The pageant gives us a glimpse of historic value, the spirit gives us a glimpse of reality. Throughout the city, one can hear people whistling, humming or singing the songs of the pageant! Everywhere, people smile and wave at one another, they hug and embrace with fervor and with our heartfelt thanks, to us, many have simply said, "Elder and Sister Warner, thank you for your service." We are very grateful!
The pageant has wrought many miracles. Last week a wonderful lady from Russia felt the spirit and wished to enter the waters of baptism. This baptism came about through a long string of miracles to numerous to mention. It all began through a cast member, who "just happened to be" the past Mission President of the Russia Siberia Mission, along with another Russian speaking member of the pageant. It was a great blessing to recognize God's hand in this and to witness the spirit whisper peace unto this wonderful Russian convert. Through an interpreter, Elena was taught the gospel and within four days she entered the waters of baptism. She was baptized by her husband, who "just happened to be" a past missionary of the Siberian Mission President. The world would call this a coincidence, we call it a miracle! It was wonderful to watch Sister Warner care for Elena's every need and I was honored to be asked to stand in the circle as her husband confirmed her and gave her the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. We will always remember this miracle of love brought about by so many, and yet, God's love is sufficient for all mankind.
Sister Warner and I had the privilege of traveling to Des Moines to assist with 34 new missionaries arriving at the mission home. We also listened to 9 departing missionaries bear testimony of God's goodness and how they loved being missionaries. It has been rightfully said that, "the world today worries about how they can change young people, while we empower young people to change the world!"
I testify that the Restoration of the Gospel has occurred and that Christ's church is upon the earth once again. Joseph was and is a prophet of God and a living prophet, even Thomas S. Monson is upon the earth today. I testify that Joseph did not go into a sacred grove of trees to see God, nor to become a prophet. He simply wanted to know which church was true and where he should go to church next Sunday. The reality of it all is this; it is true and the world had a need to know!
Stand Strong and Be Bold!
With love,
Elder and Sister Warner
