April 22, 2013

Another busy week in Manchester, Iowa! Seems like the weeks go by so quickly, that we hardly have time to accomplish all that we desire. Our planning sessions have become a huge part of our early morning routine and we regroup again just before retiring at night. The "Missionary Daily Planners" are essential to getting things done!!
Last week we visited a number of less active and part member families. Some were very friendly and welcomed us with open arms! Others, well they just need a little extra tender, loving care. One family just needs to feel that they are loved and needed. We are in the process of stepping up our visits and lessons. The Dad and daughter are members, Mom is not. We have been assigned to teach the daughter the follow-up discussions and as we were leaving their house the other day, Sister Warner asked the mom if she would sit in on the lessons so that she would know what we were teaching her daughter. Surprisingly, the Mom said that she would and we will begin teaching them on April 23rd. I told you that Sister Warner was a fabulous Missionary!! She is very close to the spirit...
Our investigator in Arlington (Vanessa) is golden and she is right on target for her May 18Th baptismal date!! Beverly, Vanessa's friend, is moving back to Mississippi. We are in the process of getting her new address so that we can send the referral on to the Mission, in that area.
The highlight of the week was the baptism of Heather, on April 20Th!
(Birthday present for Sister Warner).*:) happy
What a great outpouring of the spirit as her husband baptised her into the Lord's Kingdom. I am not able to go into a lot of detail, but this baptism was nothing short of a miracle for many, many reasons. We feel blessed to have been there to witness this sacred ordinance. Sunday, as she was confirmed, I was honored to be asked to stand in the circle and the spirit was so very strong!!
This week is transfer week and our District will be getting a new DL. Elder Elder is being transferred and on Sunday, there was considerable weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth over his departure. Sister Warner and I will be traveling to Iowa City this Thursday, to attend the transfer meeting.
Much more going on, but not far enough along to mention. Should be more news next week.
Read 3 Nephi 27:20-21. I think you'll find that the Lord sets forth a strong emphasis of what we should be doing in His kingdom.
Stand strong and be bold!!
Best,
Elder and Sister Warner
