March 18-22, 2013
Our experience at the Missionary Training Center was a spiritual feast!
There was much to learn and the training was not only intense, but was
full of fun and excitement. The topic of discussion each and every day
centered around the Preach My Gospel (PMG) manual. We gained a greater
understanding and insight for this wonderful book of scripture. It
became clear as to why prophets, seers and revelators wrote this book
for our time and have asked us to make PMG a regular part of our
scriptural study. We are grateful for testimony that we have received of
the truthfulness of this great work! The application of this manual in
our lives will bless us in all ways and will give us greater insight
into the kingdom. We are grateful for new friendships and we were
impressed and inspired by their dedication to The Lord. Many of the Sr.
Couples have served multiple missions, with many serving four or more.
It was an exciting week and we will always treasure up those spiritual
feelings in our hearts.
Elder Scott D. Whiting of the Seventy was the keynote speaker at the
Tuesday night devotional. He was dynamic! His topic centered around
being exactly obedient in all things and by doing so, we would be
successful missionaries. He compared the MTC to an incubator, whereby we
needed just a little help, a kick start, to our new missionary lives.
On Wednesday, we were able to watch nearly 700 new, young missionaries
arrive at the MTC. Almost half of them were sisters! They looked very
young, but they are valiant in all ways. Our hearts swelled as we
watched faithful parents leave their children curbside so that they
might learn and grow. The Lord is hastening His work and the future of
our church is in good hands.
We testify they the work is true and that The Lord is always near
strengthen and lift us. We felt the presence of the Holy Ghost
throughout our MTC experience and we are grateful for our opportunity to
serve.
Stay strong and keep the faith!!
We love you,
Elder and Sister Warner
